The Vuelta stage through Andorra
The fourth stage in Andorra, which will take place on Tuesday 25 August, is classified as a high-mountain stage, starting and finishing in Andorra la Vella. Covering a distance of 104.9 kilometres, it is one of the most demanding stages of the entire race.
The route includes some of the country’s most iconic mountain passes:
- Port d’Envalira
- Collada de Beixalís
- Coll d’Ordino
- La Comella
The first three are classified as first-category climbs and the last is third-category. This explains the gruelling nature of this fourth stage.
This combination of climbs usually results in significant time gaps between the riders and makes the stage an unmissable event for cycling enthusiasts.

During the climb up to Port d’Envalira, the cyclists follow the CG-2 main road, passing through Canillo, El Tarter and Soldeu before continuing towards the highest tarmac-surfaced mountain pass in the Pyrenees, Port d’Envalira.
