Where to ski this winter in Grandvalira’s sectors

Grandvalira has seven connected sectors that allow you to explore much of the ski area without taking off your skis. Although they all offer a wide range of slopes and services, each area has its own points of interest worth discovering. Here is what you can find in Grandvalira’s sectors to help you plan your next ski holiday in Andorra.

El Tarter: skiing for the whole family

It is one of Grandvalira’s most comprehensive sectors and a good choice for families and groups with different skiing abilities.
It has an extensive network of slopes, ski schools and children’s areas such as the Bababoom Circus circuit. Its range of facilities and activities means that every family member can find something suited to their age and experience. More advanced skiers can test their technique on the famous Àliga slope, which hosts international competitions, while freestyle enthusiasts can head to Snowpark El Tarter.
Once the slopes close, L’Abarset is also one of Andorra’s best-known après-ski meeting spots.

Soldeu: varied slopes and competitive skiing

This sector is home to the Avet slope, known for hosting major international alpine skiing competitions.
It also has ski schools, beginners’ areas and a wide choice of mountain restaurants.
From Soldeu, you can continue skiing towards El Tarter or head to other parts of the ski area.

Canillo: a good choice for families with children

If you are travelling with children who are learning to ski, Canillo is one of Grandvalira’s sectors worth considering.
Access is via the gondola to the El Forn area, where you will find dedicated learning areas and children’s activities.
Its family-friendly atmosphere and facilities make it an appealing option for a day in the snow with younger children.
It is also connected to El Tarter, so you can ski in both sectors during your holiday.

Encamp: the Funicamp, a gateway to Grandvalira

Access is via the Funicamp, a ski lift approximately six kilometres long that connects the town of Encamp with the Solanelles area.
From the top, you can reach various slopes and head towards other sectors of the resort.

Grau Roig: skiing surrounded by nature

This sector is characterised by its high-mountain setting, with no town or village at the foot of the slopes. It is an appealing area for skiing amid high-mountain scenery and combining time on the slopes with other winter activities.
It has slopes of varying difficulty and offers activities such as snowshoeing excursions.
It is also a good starting point for continuing on skis towards Pas de la Casa.

Pas de la Casa: high-altitude skiing and a lively atmosphere

Located next to the French border, Pas de la Casa is one of Grandvalira’s best-known sectors. Unlike Grau Roig, it has a town with shops, restaurants and a lively après-ski scene right at the foot of the slopes.

Peretol: a meeting place for freestyle enthusiasts

Its main attraction is Sunset Park Henrik Harlaut, a snowpark known for its facilities for practising jumps and tricks.
This area is designed for those who want to spend part of their holiday freestyle skiing or snowboarding and improve their technique on the snow.

Where to stay to explore Grandvalira’s sectors

One of Grandvalira’s advantages is that its seven sectors are connected, so you can explore different parts of the resort during your stay without having to change accommodation.
Hotel del Tarter is close to the entrance to the sector of the same name, making it easy to plan your days on the slopes.
