In Grandvalira you will find different options for skiing with children. From snow gardens to nurseries or specific programmes, so that the little ones learn to ski while they have a great time. Once they get to know them, they’ll be asking you to ski more than ever. Ski lessons for kids Ski lessons and programmes are divided by age. In Grandvalira your children can learn to ski from 3 years old. The groups are made up of children from 3 to 6 years old and from 6 to 11 years old. The youngest children can combine the snow garden with the Kids Program. Older children can also combine the Kids Programme with group lessons where they go skiing on the slopes. Each programme is adapted to the age of the children. Snow garden Grandvalira has 6 ski schools for children from 3 to 6 years old where they can learn to ski or snowboard. They are located in the sectors of El Tarter, Soldeu, Grau Roig, Pas de la Casa, Canillo and Encamp.The snow garden is designed to have a first contact with the snow or to receive basic ski lessons in closed circuits. In recent years, the resort has also integrated snowboarding into these courses. Depending on the snow garden, you can choose whether to ski for half a day or the whole day, an option that is available in El Tarter, Canillo and Soldeu. Kids Program This programme for children from 3 to 11 years old offers the opportunity to learn skiing techniques while having fun. The programmes can be from 1 to 5 days in which the ski course is combined with games and activities in the snow. In addition, the plan also includes lunch on the slopes. All the sectors of the resort (with the exception of El Peretol) have their Kids Program, and those of Encamp, Grau Roig and Pas de la Casa include snowboarding classes instead of skiing. Group classes Finally, there are ski or snowboard courses for youngsters aged 6 to 11. The classes are adapted to different levels and skiing is done on open slopes. Kids Forest: This is a ski circuit designed for children from 4 to 11 years old (or snowboarding from 11 years old) which is offered in the Encamp, Grau Roig and Pas de la Casa ski resorts. Ski lessons are combined with snow activities such as snowmobiling and tubing, adapted to each age and level. Bababoom circus: Decorated with circus motifs in El Tarter. In a fun way, children under the age of 12 will learn to ski or snowboard accompanied by a monitor or their parents. Yokai You will find it in the Soldeu sector, inspired by the local bird of the area, the little ones will have a great time skiing down its 646-metre-long slope. Copa del mundo de esquí alpino femenino 2024 Aunque nosotros estamos a pies de la pista Àliga, que también es escenario de carreras de esquí alpino, en esta ocasión tendremos que dirigimos hasta Soldeu. Los días 10 y 11 de febrero tendrá lugar la Copa del Mundo de eslalon y eslalon gigante femeninos de Grandvalira en la pista Avet. Podrás ver a las mejores esquiadoras del mundo compitiendo por la victoria. Además de asistir a las carreras también podrás disfrutar de un montón de actividades paralelas. Durante el día, el ski village a pie de pista y por la tarde el Abarset de El Tarter, el centro après-ski de moda de Andorra. Copa del Mundo de Kilómetro Lanzado 2024 Ya es tradición que Grau Roig, sea anfitriona de una de las ediciones de la copa del mundo de Kilómetro Lanzado. Este año será del 11 al 15 de marzo, en la única pista del sur de Europa con las condiciones para acoger este tipo de competiciones. Será la ocasión para ver a los esquiadores más rápidos del mundo, que pueden llegar a alcanzar hasta 200 km/h. A nivel técnico, la pista tiene una longitud de 887 metros, con una torre de 10 metros de altura desde donde los corredores toman la salida. Red Bull Home Run 2024 Esta carrera de esquí está abierta al público general (previa inscripción) y este año tendrá lugar en el sector del Tarter, el 3 de febrero a las 17h00. Las risas están aseguradas ya que para empezar, los participantes tendrán que correr hasta sus equipos situados a unos 60 metros de la salida. Para aumentar la diversión se recomienda ir disfrazado sobre los esquís o sobre la tabla de snow. Hibernation: música electrónica en la nieve Otra de las citas del invierno es el Hibernation Festival, del 21 al 24 de marzo en Pas de la Casa. La sexta edición de este festival trae al Principado las últimas tendencias en música tecno. Serán cuatro días llenos de ritmos repartidos en diversos escenarios, situados en el estacionamiento del Bullidor, a pie de pistas y a 2500 metros. Te espera una experiencia única con la mejor música tecno, foodtracks y stands promocionales. Snowrow: un festival para amigos y familias Tras el éxito del año pasado, vuelve este evento familiar dedicado a la música y la nieve. Resérvate las fechas: del 4 al 7 de abril, en Grau Roig. Discover Grandvalira’s novelties for the 2023-24 season

Grandvalira has unveiled the new features it has prepared for the 2023-24 season. Among them, they have presented the creation of new slopes, improvements to the infrastructure and the leisure offer, and a firm commitment to sustainability. We can’t wait to tell you everything they have in store! The domain grows with a new skiable area The installation of a Seig chairlift in the Encampadana area of the Canillo sector has enabled the extension of the resort with the creation of 3 new red slopes (Seig, La Font and La Pala) and the addition of 5 km more to the resort. In this way, Grandvalira has grown from this season to 215 km, distributed in 140 slopes for all levels, and 76 ski lifts. Improvements have also been made to the Port-Grau piste to revitalise the Port d’Envalira-Antenes area, which is where the access to the future ICÒNIC high performance high altitude building is located, which will be operational in 2025. Growth in ski mountaineering and snowshoeing circuits In total, Grandvalira now has 53 km of skimo trails and 55 km of snowshoe trails. This season it has added a 5 km ski mountaineering circuit in Soldeu and six snowshoeing circuits totalling a further 15 km in El Tarter, Soldeu and Canillo. In this way, the domain continues its commitment to offering alternative sports to alpine skiing. Improvements in infrastructures and services This season at the El Tarter, Grau Roig and Peretol snowparks you can enjoy up to 8 new freestyle modules. El Pas de la Casa inaugurates the Costa Rodona 2222, a multifunctional building that replaces the previous one. In El Tarter, the car park signage has been renewed to make it more accessible for families and people with reduced mobility. Some of the resort’s restaurants have been renovated and new terraces have been opened to take a break and recover your energy while enjoying the sun. Respect for the environment This is one of the resort’s main priorities. In this sense, it invests heavily in projects that improve sustainability and minimise the impact on the environment. One of the measures taken this season has been to install 88 new snow-growing snowmakers to improve the resort’s network, especially in Pla de Pedres, which is the connection point between the Grau Roig and Soldeu sectors, a key area of the resort. This year they will also carry out a pilot test on the snow groomers at El Tarter, Canillo and Soldeu, which will use 100% plant-based fuel. Finally, the installation of new charging points for electric vehicles and more photovoltaic panels, among other environmental actions, should be highlighted. Competitions and events for 2024 As we have become used to, every season in Grandvalira is full of great competitions and events: – Women’s World Cup On 10 and 11 February, the Audi Fis Ski World Cup slalom and giant slalom events return on the Avet piste in the Soldeu sector. – Launched Kilometre World Cup The fastest skiers in the world will meet on the Riberal de Gra Roig piste from 12 to 15 March. – Snowrow This festival that combines sport and music will be held for the second year in the Grau Roig sector, from 4 to 7 April 2024. Ski pass and timetables To practise ski mountaineering you need a special ski pass different from the Alpine ski pass: the one-day Mountain Pass. It gives you unlimited access to the circuits designed for ski mountaineering and snowshoeing. It also includes the use of the ski lifts for one ascent and descent per day and per lift. These are: Canillo cable car, Tarter cable car, Soldeu cable car, els Pioners cable car (Pas de la Casa), Funicamp and the Montmalús ski lift in Grandvalira.
