In winter, Andorra offers you many possibilities to make the most of your snow holidays, whether you are a skier or not. Fun and different activities that can be combined with ski, designed for the whole family to enjoy and have a happy time.
Enjoy the experience of riding on a dog sled
Mushing is an ideal activity for those who want to enjoy the snow with children in a different and relaxed way. Sledges can be of two or four seats, with a musher who guides dogs through a snow path. It’s a different way to enjoy nature and discover Andorra’s spectacular landscapes.
Both Grandvalira, in the areas of Grau Roig and the Tarter (walking distance from the hotel); Pal in Vallnord and Naturlandia, offer this activity. You just have to choose where you want to go, but in any station the fun with the whole family is assured.
And if you dare, you can drive the sledge yourself and guide the dog team with the help of the musher.
Routes with snowshoes suitable for large and small
This activity is one of the preferred for those who visit us in winter and from year to year it is increasing its popularity. You can make excursions in all the stations of the country, for all levels, with or without a guide (if you are already an expert) and of different durations (from 1 to 5 hours). And if you do not have the necessary equipment, do not worry because we can help you with the snowshoes rental.
The snowshoes routes usually have their way in circuits outside the ski slopes passing through forests, frozen streams or even mountain lakes. It is an ideal way to do some sports and maintain contact with nature with your children, during the winter.
You have also the possibility of enjoying a snowshoe excursion at night, walking up to one of the mountain restaurants to enjoy a high-altitude dining experience.
Igloo building in Grandvalira
This is one of the most original activities, allowing children to develop their creativity in the snow. Guided by an instructor, they will follow the guidelines for building an igloo. Depending on the texture of the snow, they will use compacted blocks or mould the snow. You’ll have a great time. To take part in this activity, you will need to travel to Grau Roig.
Snake Gliss: sledding in Soldeu
This isn’t just a short ride down the slopes, but a descent from Pla d’Espiolets to the village of Soldeu, passing through the Astoret, Ós and Bosc Fosc slopes. Snake Gliss is an articulated sledge driven by an instructor. Children aged 3 and above can ride, accompanied by an adult. What’s more, you can also consider this an après-ski activity, as it starts at 5 pm.
Get your adrenaline pumping on a snowmobile
This is another of Andorra’s classic winter activities. If you like motorised excursions, this is a must on your list. You’ll enjoy riding on snow through incredible landscapes. You can do it during the day or at night, from 6 pm onwards. It is recommended for people over 18 years of age, and children between 6 and 17 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.
