From April 5 to 7, the ski area in the Grau-Roig sector will host for the third time the last races of the Speed Skiing World Cup. The slopes The slope chosen to compete is La Riberal, located in the Grau Roig sector in Grandvalira. From 22 to 25 March, Andorra will host for the 14th time the Total Fight Masters of Freestyle. An event that every year brings together the best riders, both freeski and snowboard of the international scene. In addition, since last year, the modality of snowboarding has a female category in which the best riders in the world will compete to get the podium. The competition The Total Fight Masters of Freestyle is one of the essential events for the freeriders of the world since, whatever the modality in which they participate, the events of this competition are of the highest level. In Snowboard, the Total Fight is part of the ELITE category, to which only 7 events belong in the world, such as the X Games of Aspen and Oslo. Following the organizational success of the two women’s World Cup events that took place last year, the largest ski area in the Pyrenees is preparing to host the final stages of the FIS Alpine Skiing European Cup. Next March 10th and 11th, Grandvalira will premiere a new event: This season will be the first edition of the Snowbike Grandvalira in the Grau Roig sector! A weekend that promises to surprise both participants and spectators. Below we reveal some of the details of this new sports event. What does it consist of? The Grandvalira Snowbike is made up of two races: one with traditional mountain bikes and another with e-bikes, that is, electric bicycles. Whichever category they run, they will be equipped with wide tires specially designed to run in the snow. The entire event will be attended by FatBike Barcelona, a company specializing in this discipline, and will be presented by the famous actor Santi Millán. The details of the event The Andorra Skimo is a long-distance journey that aims to travel a part of the country through its three ski resorts. It is practiced in teams of 2 or 3 people who must overcome various stages practicing mountain skiing. In the past 2 editions, this event only had one category: the Skimo6, but this year the organizers have created a harder and more extended version of it: the Skimo10. The Skimo6 This category of the crossing will start at the Roca de Pines refuge, located in Naturlandia, at 8 o’clock in the morning and will reach the Grau Roig ski resort. The participants will have a maximum of 8 hours to cross the 6 shelters that will be along the road while crossing a large part of the spectacular valley of Madriu-Perafita-Claror. The Skimo10 This route, which has the same starting point and time as the Skimo6, has 4 more refuges for which the participants will have to pass, this time to get to the Ordino-Arcalís station: the one in Siscaró, the one in Coms de Jan, Sorteny’s and Rialb’s.
