From 10 February to 16 March, Grandvalira host the finals of the Alpine Skiing European Cup, both the men’s and women’s category. A week of high competition in Soldeu and in El Tarter.
L’Àliga track test ahead of the 2016 World Cup
The track of the Àliga-Tarter, whose latest meters can be viewed from our terrace, will debut as a racetrack as rehearsal for the upcoming World Cup to be held in February 2016 in Grandvalira. This track will host testing Downhill and Super Giant male and female. To this end, the path it has been modified and improved to reach a total of 2.9 km, 50 meters wide and with a cumulative elevation changes, uneven walls and planes.
In addition, at the request of the FIS World Cup 2016, the last section of the old path of the Àliga track will be recovered as a test for the Super Combined, and all sections with be equiped with a new installation of snowmaking.
In Soldeu, l’Avet has established itself as a perfect track for the show
The mythic Avet slope of Grandvalira Soldeu sector, which has already been tested by best world skiers, is confirmed as one of the toughest tracks on the circuit in the slalom and giant modes. Its classic layout and steep slope up to 60 % in any of the sections ensure the excitement and enjoyment of viewers.
