This summer, enjoy the iron ways in Andorra

If you like mountains, nature and outdoor activities, you have surely already heard about via ferrata. This activity, suitable for anyone who has a minimum of physical fitness, is located between mountain trekking (trekking) and basic climbing.

A plan for adventurous families

For you, who consider mountain as the best garden you can have during your holidays. For your children, who run around the paths as if they were city roads … Via Ferrata are your opportunity to enjoy a mountain route with a plus of adventure.

What is a via ferrata?
It is a mountain route with sections on walls or rock equipped with steps, staples, cable, ramps, pegs and even hanging bridges. These elements ensure your journey and make it possible for you to advance and overcome obstacles on the way.

Easy Via Ferrata in Andorra
To try this modality for the first time, or if you are going to do it as a family, we recommend that you choose an easy via ferrata. This will allow you to discover new sensations without exceeding your possibilities and enjoying the experience.
We recommend a couple of via ferratas easy and suitable for everyone. If you have already tried it before and are looking for more difficult routes, see the complete guide of iron ways in Canillo. All of them are well signposted and have free access.

Via Ferrata Clots de l’Aspra
It’s located in Els Cortals area of Encamp, and is perfect to start (even with small children). After 10 minutes of approaching, you will reach the via ferrata, which has a length of 150 meters and 70 meters of altitude difference. The first section is carried out by a spur with many steps so that the little ones can make the ascent without any problem. You will need almost two hours to do the via ferrata and about 25 minutes to get back to your vehicle.

Canal de la Mora 1 / 2
It is located in the parish of Canillo, at km 1 of the Montaup road (Canillo to Ordino road) and the approach is only of 5 minutes. It is a low difficulty road, with no loopholes, and has a length of 400m and a height of 200m. The route offers two possible itineraries (you will see the fork in the middle of the route) of similar difficulty.
You must count on an hour and a half to do the via ferrata, and 25 minutes to get back to the starting point.

To finish, just remember that whenever you go to the mountains (even if it is in summer) it is very important that you check the weather forecasts. Take with you a small backpack with a warm and waterproof garment, water and a snack. So, nothing will spoil your adventure!
