At the beginning of the year, in the upper part of Escaldes-Engordany, the former Valira Hotel reopened its doors to host the Carmen Thyssen Andorra Museum. A space in which to be able to observe pictures of the most prestigious painters of the last two centuries, in the different exhibitions that will be changing each year.

“Escenarios. De Monet a Estes. De Trouville a Nueva York” is a series of 26 paintings that since January, 14rd of this year is exhibited in the museum. Among these works of art, which have been selected from the Carmen Thyssen-Bornemisza collection, are paintings by great artists such as Monet, Ramon Casas and Richard Estes. The exhibition focuses on the representation of spaces and landscapes in different artistic styles such as impressionism, Catalan modernism and social realism.
In order to be able to discover all the secrets and details of the exhibited works, inside the museum room, visitors will be able to find three large touch screens in which they will find information of the works or until they can be zoomed in to see each brushstroke. In addition, the visit can be made with an audioguide available in 6 languages or, reserving in advance, together with a museum specialist.
Games and fun
The younger ones will be able to enter the world of art in the EduCarmenThyssen space, a place where through pedagogical activities and workshops, they will be able to understand and enjoy the exhibition in a very fun way.
And for the adults, the Museum organizes night sessions of Escape Room during which the participants will have an hour to solve all the riddles and find the codes with the help of the exposed pictures and get out of the museum. A unique experience that combines the fashion game with a guided tour of the exhibition.
