February is an ideal month to arrange a getaway to the snow with the whole family. There are plenty of options for you to have a great time, whether you prefer skiing or enjoying the snow activities offered by Grandvalira, just a short distance from the hotel. This month, the après-ski is alive in the streets with all the events, parades and Carnival festivities in Andorra.
Snow activities for a super white week
If you like skiing or snowboarding, you’ll really enjoy it after the last snowfalls in January. We also suggest a selection of the best snow activities for you to combine. Although if you don’t ski, you can also book them. And there’s so much to choose from, you’ll be able to do a different one every day.
- Excursions through natural landscapes
If you like discovering hidden corners and strolling through snowy forests, we suggest a good snowshoeing route. If you hire a guide, you’ll get the most out of it. If you like to try something different and you are travelling with children, a very popular activity is mushing, with which you will travel through beautiful landscapes on a sled pulled by dogs. And if you’re more of an adrenaline junkie, you can’t miss the chance to get on a snowmobile and go on a route in Grau Roig or in the Envalira Pass.
- The most fun
Can you imagine sledging down an entire slope? In Soldeu you can ski down this slope in the morning and at the end of the day you will go down it on the Snakegliss, an articulated sledge with several seats, driven by a guide.
Another great place where children will have a wonderful time is at the Mon(t) Magic in the Canillo sector, where there are a multitude of activities for them. Parents can join them on the Magic Gliss, a giant slide with a 550 m. downhill and 180 m. uphill. Not forgetting the zip line, which flies over the Forn lake at a height of 40 metres. The best thing: you can go up in tandem with your child.
- The novelty of the season
Grandvalira has launched Snowtubbing by Dots, a new attraction located in Pas de la Casa. It is the longest tubing slope in Europe, where you will slide down the slope on giant floats, on snow in winter and on grass in summer. It has a 350-metre route made up of curves and tunnels and was inaugurated on 28 January 2023.
Carnival in Andorra for everyone
When you come down the slopes, you can’t miss the festivities and events that will be held to celebrate carnival in Andorra.
Canillo, the town closest to the hotel, organises its traditional harlequin parade. In Ordino and Encamp, the tradition continues with the trial of the Carnival with the smugglers. Sant Julià and La Massana organise activities for young and old alike. And Escaldes and Andorra la Vella bring back the joint costume parade through the most central streets of the country.
