Grandvalira has unveiled the new features it has prepared for the 2023-24 season. Among them, they have presented the creation of new slopes, improvements to the infrastructure and the leisure offer, and a firm commitment to sustainability. The domain grows with a new skiable area<\/strong><\/span>
\nThe installation of a Seig chairlift in the Encampadana area of the Canillo sector has enabled the extension of the resort with the creation of 3 new red slopes (Seig, La Font and La Pala) and the addition of 5 km more to the resort. In this way, Grandvalira has grown from this season to 215 km, distributed in 140 slopes for all levels, and 76 ski lifts<\/strong>.
\nImprovements have also been made to the Port-Grau piste to revitalise the Port d’Envalira-Antenes area, which is where the access to the future IC\u00d2NIC high performance high altitude building is located, which will be operational in 2025.<\/p>\n

Growth in ski mountaineering and snowshoeing circuits<\/strong><\/span>
\nIn total, Grandvalira now has 53 km of skimo trails and 55 km of snowshoe trails. This season it has added a 5 km ski mountaineering circuit in Soldeu and six snowshoeing circuits<\/strong> totalling a further 15 km in El Tarter, Soldeu and Canillo.
\nIn this way, the domain continues its commitment to offering alternative sports to alpine skiing.<\/p>\n

Improvements in infrastructures and services<\/strong><\/span>
\nThis season at the El Tarter, Grau Roig and Peretol snowparks you can enjoy up to 8 new freestyle modules<\/strong>. El Pas de la Casa inaugurates the Costa Rodona 2222, a multifunctional building that replaces the previous one.
\nIn El Tarter, the car park signage has been renewed to make it more accessible for families and people with reduced mobility.
\nSome of the resort’s restaurants have been renovated and new terraces have been opened to take a break and recover your energy while enjoying the sun.<\/p>\n

Respect for the environment<\/strong><\/span>
\nThis is one of the resort’s main priorities. In this sense, it invests heavily in projects that improve sustainability and minimise the impact on the environment<\/strong>. One of the measures taken this season has been to install 88 new snow-growing snowmakers to improve the resort’s network, especially in Pla de Pedres, which is the connection point between the Grau Roig and Soldeu sectors, a key area of the resort. This year they will also carry out a pilot test on the snow groomers at El Tarter, Canillo and Soldeu, which will use 100% plant-based fuel. Finally, the installation of new charging points for electric vehicles and more photovoltaic panels, among other environmental actions, should be highlighted.<\/p>\n

Competitions and events for 2024<\/strong><\/span>
\nAs we have become used to, every season in Grandvalira is full of great competitions and events:
\n– Women’s World Cup<\/strong>
\nOn 10 and 11 February, the Audi Fis Ski World Cup slalom and giant slalom events return on the Avet piste in the Soldeu sector.
\n– Launched Kilometre World Cup<\/strong>
\nThe fastest skiers in the world will meet on the Riberal de Gra Roig piste from 12 to 15 March.
\n– Snowrow<\/strong>
\nThis festival that combines sport and music will be held for the second year in the Grau Roig sector, from 4 to 7 April 2024.<\/p>\n

And of course, there will be new proposals for apr\u00e8s-ski at l’Abarset, undoubtedly the most important meeting point in Andorra to enjoy the gastronomy, and to vibrate and dance with the performances of the collaborating DJs.<\/p>\n

Finally, a curiosity you won’t want to miss. In 2024 Grandvalira will be celebrating because Soldeu-El Tarter will turn 60 years old<\/strong>. Soldeu was the first Andorran resort to install a chairlift in 1964, and Grandvalira will certainly want to pay tribute to it next year.
