The Carmen Thyssen Museum in Andorra has just presented a new art exhibition that you can now visit. We tell you what it is about and the artists who are part of it so that you have a new excuse to travel to Andorra.
Talents with designation of origin. From Rigalt to Puigdengolas
This is the name of this new exhibition, where you can admire works by Santiago Rusiñol, Joaquim Mir and Ramón Casas, among other contemporary Catalan painters. A total of 28 works created between the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century will be on display. The exhibition encompasses different schools or artistic groupings that were innovative in their time and broke with the established rules. They are references of their time and provide an insight into the values and culture of their era. This time the majority of the catalogue is from the private collection of Crèdit Andorrà and is completed by works of art from the collection of the Museo Carmen Thyssen.
The Carmen Thyssen Museum Andorra
Since its opening, the Carmen Thyssen Andorra Museum has exhibited various paintings and sculptures from the Carmen Thyssen private collection, which change regularly once a year. If you come to Andorra, we recommend that you set aside an afternoon to visit this exhibition hall. In addition, there are usually parallel activities related to the exhibition, some of which are dedicated to children. We advise you to book before you go, as the capacity is limited in order to maintain the minimum distance imposed as a precaution against Covid-19.
The art triangle in Escaldes
If you like cultural activities, you can visit two art galleries that are very close to the Thyssen Museum, which are free of charge, and which vary their exhibitions very often. In addition, at the CAEE (the Escaldes-Engordany art centre) you can also admire the sculptures of Josep Viladomat and the miniatures of the Romanesque churches.
