We recently updated you on all the cycling competitions and events related to two wheels that will take place this summer in Andorra, but there’s more! This year, mountain races are also back and we’ll be back to enjoy what we love most: nature and the great outdoors. Discover them all here:
The Spartan Race: the obstacle course race above all others
This year’s mountain race calendar kicks off with the Spartan Race, which will be held in the parish of Encamp on 12 June. The competition is divided into 6 races of different difficulties and distances, in which everyone from beginners to more experienced runners can take part. Are you up for it?
The new one: the Trail 100 Andorra-Pyrénées
June brings one of the Trail Running races which is a real challenge for trail running enthusiasts. The start and finish will be in the village of Ordino and there will be 3 different routes of 125 km, 55 km or 25 km. Finally, there is also a 7.5 km mountain circuit for beginners and families, so that everyone can take part.
Ironman also comes to Andorra
On 4 July, one of the toughest and most physically (and mentally) demanding races will take place. The swim will take place in the Engolasters Lake: take note that it is the highest place that has hosted a race of this type. The cycling route will be 190 km long, from the lake to Sant Julià, passing through Coll de la Gallina and Coll de la Peguera, two mythical mountain passes. Finally, the runners will reach Andorra la Vella where the 21 km foot race will take place. A real challenge!
The Skyrace Comapedrosa: reaching the roof of Andorra
The long-awaited race to crown the highest peak in the Principality: Comapedrosa at an altitude of 2,942 metres is back for another year. Last year, like all the other competitions, it had to be cancelled, so this summer it is back with even more enthusiasm.
