It’s mid-summer, but the fun is not over! During August and September you still have the opportunity to attend and even participate in major sporting events. Do you want to know which ones? Below, we detail them.
La Vuelta
If you are a fan of cycling, surely in your calendar you will have marked the start of the Tour of Spain. Enjoy two of the most intense stages of this competition on 21 and 22 August, when the best runners pass through Andorra. They will arrive on Monday after leaving from Prades Conflent Canigó and cross Alto de la Peguera, Coll de la Rabassa and Alto de la Comella, after almost 160km race.
They will return to the road the next day to start the 4th stage of this competition until reaching Tarragona. A much flatter stage but that promises to give us many surprises in its first kilometers.
La Purito
And if what you like is to compete on your bike, do not miss the third edition of La Purito that will take place on August 6th. This year, Joaquim Purito Rodríguez Oliver and the Sprint Club of Andorra use La Vuelta again in 2011. In it, riders will have to overcome 5 mountain passes: the Beixalís pass, the Ordino pass, The Rabassa, the Col de la Gallina and the Alto de la Comella and reach the Cortals d’Encamp. A test with a total of 145km and only recommended to the most prepared. And if you want to participate but are still a beginner, you can also aim for the initiation course (about 25km) and intermediate (about 80km).
Spartan Race
If you’re more into running with your legs, you cannot miss the Spartan Race, the world’s leading obstacle course.
In this competition, you can choose from 3 types of categories according to your physical preparation: Sprint, Super and Beast. In addition, you can also participate in the Endurance category, in which you will test your physical and mental limits. You have a date on September 16th!
