In February, one of the most eagerly awaited festivals of the year arrives: Carnival. We believe that any excuse is a good one for you to organise a getaway and come and enjoy skiing in Andorra. We suggest 5 plans that will take your passion for the snow to another level.
1. Dare to ski mountaineering
For a day, forget the alpine skiing and snowboarding boards and enjoy the alternative landscapes to the ski slopes. Grandvalira offers skimo circuits and, if you prefer, you can also hire official guides who will show you the best spots in the resort.
2. Freeride adventure
Enjoy new experiences in the snow on the freeride circuits, on powder snow, with obstacles and jumps. You must have a high level of skiing or snowboarding. If you want to be on the safe side, you can take a freeride lesson beforehand to learn from the best and know all about snow safety.
3. Discover the resort with a guide
Grandvalira offers 3-hour morning tours to get to know the resort in depth, covering the sectors of El Tarter, Soldeu, Grau Roig and Pas de la Casa. A good level of skiing is required and they are only available for alpine skiers.
4. Hit the slopes before anyone else
Enjoy the pleasure of skiing early in the morning when the resort is not yet open to the public. The “first snow” service is available from 8am to 9am, departing from the El Tarter sector and it includes breakfast.
5. Get your adrenaline pumping on the Tyrolean traverse
This is one of the most fun attractions in both summer and winter. It is located in the Mon(t) Magic de Canillo and, with a length of 550 metres and a height of 40 metres, it will take you over the El Forn lake. Don’t miss the opportunity to enjoy the most beautiful mountain landscapes from the heights.
